We are looking for a high-performing Area Sales Manager (ASM) to take full ownership of Rivers State. This is a numbers-driven, execution-focused role—we need someone who can open markets, drive sales aggressively, build a solid team, and deliver results consistently. You will lead from the front, manage a team of Medical Representatives, and ensure strong execution across hospitals, institutions, and trade channels.

Responsibilities

Drive Sales & Market Growth:

• Own and deliver regional sales targets (primary and & secondary).

• Develop and execute aggressive territory plans to grow market share.

• Identify new business opportunities across hospitals, pharmacies, and distributors.

• Ensure strong visibility and penetration of key brands in your region.

Lead & Build a Winning Team:

• Train and build a high-performing team of medical representatives.

• Set clear targets and track performance weekly — no guesswork.

• Coach your team in the field (joint calls, conversions, account management).

• Take swift action on underperformance — accountability is key.

Manage Key Accounts & Relationships:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with doctors, pharmacists, hospital management, and key distributors.

• Personally handle strategic accounts and large opportunities.

Distributor & Trade Execution:

• Drive distributor performance, coverage, and stock availability.

• Ensure products are always available — no stock-outs in key outlets.

• Push strong secondary sales and channel movement.

Market Intelligence

• Stay ahead of competitor pricing, promotions, and field activity.

• Provide real-time feedback and recommend tactical actions.

Reporting & Discipline:

• Maintain accurate sales tracking, forecasting, and reporting.

• Ensure discipline across the region in execution and data reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Business, etc.).

• 7+ years of pharmaceutical sales experience in Nigeria.

• Proven track record of delivering strong sales numbers consistently.

• Demonstrated success in leading, managing, and scaling sales teams.

• Strong understanding of territory pharma market dynamics.

• Must have good experience and deep contacts in Rivers and adjacent areas.

• Highly execution-focused — you know how to drive numbers on the ground.

• Strong relationships within hospitals, distributors, and trade channels is a plus.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.

• Comfortable with Excel and structured sales reporting.
