Job Description
• A Personal Banking Officer is responsible for acquiring, managing, and growing customer relationships while promoting the bank’s products and services to meet deposit, loan, and profitability targets.

Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities

Customer Acquisition & Relationship Management:

• Source and onboard new individual and business customers.

• Build, nurture, and maintain strong relationships with existing account holders.

• Conduct regular customer site visits and ongoing follow-ups.

Deposit Mobilization:

• Drive growth across savings, current, and fixed deposit accounts.

• Consistently meet or exceed assigned deposit mobilization targets.

• Formulate and execute strategies to attract low-cost deposits.

Loan Generation & Portfolio Monitoring:

• Identify potential borrowers and market the bank's credit/loan products.

• Perform preliminary credit assessments and financial evaluations.

• Monitor loan repayments to preserve portfolio quality.

• Actively follow up on overdue loans and support debt recovery efforts.

Cross-Selling & Business Development:

• Cross-sell digital banking products, fixed deposits, and other financial services to increase customer product penetration.

• Identify new market opportunities, generate quality leads, and participate in community and market outreach events.

Customer Service & Operational Compliance:

• Address customer inquiries and resolve complaints promptly to ensure high satisfaction.

• Strictly adhere to KYC (Know Your Customer), AML (Anti-Money Laundering), and regulatory requirements.

• Maintain complete documentation for account opening and loan applications while safeguarding customer data confidentiality.

Reporting:

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports tracking sales activities, deposit growth, and loan portfolio performance.

Qualifications & Requirements

Educational Qualification:

• Degree: Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Banking & Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, Accounting, or a related discipline.

• Certifications: Professional certifications in banking or finance are an added advantage.

Experience:

• 1–3 years of relevant experience in banking, microfinance, sales, or relationship management.

• Direct experience in deposit mobilization and credit marketing is highly desirable.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong sales, marketing, and negotiation abilities.

• Solid relationship management and customer service orientation.

• Basic knowledge of credit analysis and financial assessments.

• Proven ability to work under pressure and achieve set targets.

• Strong understanding of microfinance/banking products and services.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
