Role Description The Management Accountant will work on-site in Benin City in a full-time capacity, providing financial insights and support to guide decision-making across the group’s subsidiaries. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing, reviewing, and analyzing management accounts, budgets, and forecasts, as well as monitoring variances and advising on cost control and performance improvement. The role involves preparing and interpreting financial statements, overseeing accruals and other period-end adjustments, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
The Management
Accountant will collaborate with operational and finance teams to track key performance indicators, support internal audits, and contribute to the development of financial policies and procedures. This position also requires preparing reports and presentations for leadership, supporting strategic planning initiatives, and maintaining compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
Qualifications
Strong accounting and finance skills, including practical experience in Accounting and Finance functions.
Proficiency in preparing and interpreting Financial Statements and managing Accruals and other period-end adjustments.
Well-developed Analytical Skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide clear recommendations.
Relevant academic background, such as a degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Professional certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or progress toward certification is an advantage.
Experience with management accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis in a corporate or multi-subsidiary environment.
Competence in using accounting software and Excel or other spreadsheet tools for financial modeling and reporting.
Strong attention to detail, integrity in handling financial information, and the ability to meet deadlines.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Familiarity with Nigerian financial regulations and tax practices is beneficial.
