Job Description
Generation Capital Limited is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Accountant to oversee the company's financial operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and maintain compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will lead the accounting function, manage financial reporting, oversee loan accounting processes, and provide financial insights that support business growth and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Supervise general ledger activities, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
• Oversee loan accounting, including loan disbursements, repayments, interest recognition, and portfolio reconciliation.
• Monitor customer repayments and reconcile income and account balances.
• Review statements of account and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analyses.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and internal reporting requirements.
• Coordinate weekly and monthly financial reports for management.
• Maintain effective internal controls and support internal and external audits.
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
• Liaise with auditors, regulators, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and operational efficiency.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years' experience in an accounting role.
• Experience in financial services, lending, microfinance, or a related industry is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting, and accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or ACA) is an added advantage.

Pay: ₦300,000.00 - ₦400,000.00 per month
