Job Description
Job Title: HR Operations Manager
Location: Abuja, Nigeria
Salary: ₦250,000 per month
About the Role
We need someone to own the entire people function end-to-end. From the moment a seat is approved to the day someone leaves and we learn from it. If you like systems, evidence, and accountability, this is you.
Responsibilities
• Recruitment, End to End: Own hiring from seat approval to productivity. Target: Time-to-fill ≤30 days. Maintain a bench of at least 2 warm candidates for every seat in the house.
• Onboarding: Guarantee day-one readiness before a person arrives — tools, access, printed materials, signed agreements, named buddy. No one’s first week is spent chasing a chair.
• Probation & Appraisal: Schedule and run 12 weekly reviews booked on day one. Ensure appraisals happen on time, based on evidence the employee has already seen.
• Collate the Monday/Wednesday/Friday culture vote, witness it same day, and report it honestly to the CEO including when the news is unwelcome.
• The People Record: Maintain contracts, agreements, integrity log, training records, examination results. Ensure everything is accurate, current, and confidential.
• Retention: Measure whether good people stay. Treat every exit as a question about us, not just about them.
Requirements
• 4–7 years in HR with at least 2 years of direct recruitment ownership, not just coordination.
• Practical knowledge of Nigerian employment obligations: Employment contracts, PAYE, pension, NSITF, ITF, group life. You don’t need to be a lawyer, but you must know what the house must not get wrong.
• Experience across multiple role types: Operational, professional, and senior — because we hire all three.
• Structured and data-driven: Comfortable with documents, records, and spreadsheets. Everything here is written down.
• Professional membership: CIPM or similar is welcome but not required. We test the work.
