Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Junior Accountant / Tax Associate role based in Abuja. The role involves assisting with tax preparation and filing for various tax types, supporting tax compliance processes, and maintaining accurate accounting records.
Responsibilities include posting daily transactions, managing bookkeeping, and contributing to the preparation of financial statements and management accounts. The associate will help with payroll calculations and statutory remittances, support tax audits and reconciliations, and liaise with regulatory bodies as needed. The role also includes working with senior team members on client advisory tasks, ensuring documentation is up to date, and contributing to efficient, compliant financial operations for clients.
Qualifications
• Candidates should possess strong skills in Tax, including Tax Compliance and Tax Preparation.
• Candidates should possess solid Accounting skills, including experience with Financial Statements.
• Relevant academic background such as a degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills, with the ability to work under deadlines.
• Good written and verbal communication skills and a professional client-facing attitude.
• Knowledge of Nigerian tax regulations and statutory requirements; professional certifications (e.g., ICAN, ACCA in progress or completed) are an added advantage.
