Job Description
Seismic Consulting Group is seeking a highly skilled and intellectually rigorous UI/UX Designer to lead the design of data-driven platforms, policy tools, dashboards, and digital systems developed for governments, development partners, and private-sector clients.
This role goes beyond aesthetics. The UI/UX Designer will translate complex policy, financial, M&E, and governance workflows into intuitive, accessible, and scalable digital experiences. The designer will work closely with researchers, AI/ML engineers, software developers, and sector experts to ensure that Seismic’s digital products are usable, credible, and decision-oriented.

The ideal candidate will also:
• Conduct user research across diverse stakeholder groups including policymakers, civil servants, administrators, development partners, and the general public.
• Translate TORs, policy documents, PRDs, and technical briefs into clear user journeys and experience maps.
• Define user personas, use cases, pain points, and access constraints (low bandwidth, mobile-first, accessibility).
2. UX Design & Information Architecture
• Design end-to-end user flows for complex systems such as:
• Monitoring & Evaluation platforms
• Financial intelligence dashboards
• Education and TVET management systems
• AI-enabled advisory and analytics tools
• Develop logical information architecture that simplifies complex datasets, processes, and institutional structures.
• Ensure clarity, consistency, and scalability across multi-module platforms.
3. UI Design & Visual Systems
• Design high-fidelity interfaces that align with Seismic’s brand, professionalism, and credibility as a consulting firm.
• Create and maintain design systems, component libraries, and style guides.
• Ensure designs are responsive, accessible (WCAG principles), and optimized for web and mobile environments.
• Balance clarity, elegance, and functionality—especially for executive and government-facing dashboards.
4. Collaboration & Product Delivery
• Work closely with
• Software developers (frontend & backend)
• AI/ML engineers
• M&E specialists
• Policy and sector experts
• Translate UX designs into developer-ready assets (Figma, design tokens, interaction specs).
• Participate in sprint planning, design reviews, and product demos.
5. Usability Testing & Iteration
• Conduct usability testing, heuristic evaluations, and feedback sessions.
• Iterate designs based on evidence, user feedback, and performance metrics.
• Continuously improve user experience across deployed systems.
6. Strategic Design Thinking
• Contribute to proposal development, demos, and concept notes by producing compelling product mockups and prototypes.
• Support Seismic’s positioning as a technology-enabled consulting firm through strong product storytelling.
• Apply systems thinking to ensure designs reflect institutional realities and policy workflows.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Computer Science, HCI, Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree is an advantage).
• 3–7 years of proven experience in UI/UX design for complex systems, platforms, or enterprise tools.
