Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
Project Governance and Delivery:
• Own the project plan and timeline, building and maintaining tools such as Gantt charts to track progress against milestones.
• Manage a RAID log and related governance documentation, ensuring risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies are tracked and addressed with discipline.
• Identify risks to delivery before they are raised by others, bringing forward options and recommendations rather than only flagging problems.
Executive Communication and Reporting:
• Prepare board-level presentations and reports that communicate project status, risks, and decisions clearly to senior stakeholders.
• Coordinate meetings across workstreams and with client leadership, setting agendas, documenting outcomes, and tracking actions to closure.
Stakeholder Management:
• Manage stakeholder relationships across levels of seniority, including the ability to challenge timelines and hold stakeholders accountable for deliverables without damaging working relationships.
• Operate as a trusted point of contact for the project sponsor, exercising judgment on escalation and prioritisation.
Requirements
Experience:
• Minimum of five years of project or programme management experience, with at least two years managing complex, cross-functional change or transformation projects.
• Has led or contributed meaningfully to at least one end-to-end transformation, such as an operating model redesign, digital transformation, cost optimisation initiative, mergers and acquisitions integration, or organisational redesign.
• Prior experience at a major global consulting firm strongly preferred.
• Direct experience working with board-level stakeholders on high-visibility initiatives.
Skills and Competencies:
• Strong proficiency in Google Sheets, Excel, and PowerPoint, including Pivot Tables and XLOOKUP at minimum, with basic SQL or Python considered an advantage.
• Familiarity with project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, Asana, or Smartsheet.
• Identifies problems before being asked and proposes options with a clear recommendation rather than presenting issues without direction.
• Absorbs new information quickly enough to apply it effectively in unfamiliar contexts.
• Manages upward and across with confidence, able to hold senior stakeholders accountable while preserving the relationship.
• Maintains attention to detail across every report, deck, and timeline produced.
• Remains composed under pressure and communicates with the presence that gives leadership confidence the project is in capable hands.
Certifications:
• A project management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, or a recognized Agile or Scrum credential is preferred.
