BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting a Project Manager to join the Northern Construction business, to be based on an Healthcare project within the North West region.
As a Project Manager you will have a proven track record of delivering projects in excess of £50m. The successful candidate will report to a Construction Director and will be based within the North West region for any future projects. The project details include
:
• Complex management and co-ordination of logistics in and around a live facility with high volumes of public and staff interfac e• High-rise steel fram e• High quality unitised curtain walling installatio n• High specification multi-core destination controlled lift s• Quality finishes and end user requirements paramoun t• Project often sited on a highly constrained site and a strong focus on planning and logistics will be required with a strong end user client relationship .
Making Possib le• Managing the day to day working of the project and supporting the site team in making decisions and providing direction that suits the projects targets in terms of safety, programme and commercial contr ol• Contributing to regular team meetin gs• Preparing and issuing Project Management Plans, including regular reviews and revisions as necessar y.
• Maintaining contact with the client’s team producing and presenting regular reports to support a senior regional management tea m.
• Formulating and agreeing target programmes and short / medium term trade programm es• Managing the Programme and monitoring cos ts• Managing the preliminaries budg et• Leading, coordinating and motivating the site team and supply chain in achieving a collaborative team approach to deliver the proje ct• Setting up quality procedures and ensuring these are implemente d.
• Establishing project industrial relations that reflect BAM procedure s.
• Ensuring competence of subcontractors in compliance with CSCS and Build UK requirements, prior to appointmen t.
• Managing site health and safety, security and fire policie s.
• Ensuring BAM construction environmental procedures are implemented on sit e.
• Formulating and overseeing implementation of risk and opportunity manageme nt• Managing the strategic aspects of the project, mitigating risks whilst overseeing / coordinating the delivery te am• Managing the project handover and ensuring a defect / snag free completio n.

• A broad construction technical experi ence• Experience working on a healthcare pro ject• Commercial and contract aware ness• Proven and effective Leadership sk ills• Proven experience to manage a project team• Proven experience of similar high-rise, high-value city centre construction proj ects• Proven experience of implementing relevant Health & Safety procedures and cul ture• Proven experience of managing complex logistics including multiple tower cranes and lifting p lans• Knowledge of Environmental, BREEAM and CCS systems and procedu res.
• Competent knowledge of IT pack ages• Valid driver’s lic ence
