Assistant Engineer in Microbiology
Job Description
Within the UR1155 IICiMed, the assistant engineer will primarily work in a type 2 laboratory. They will be responsible for implementing biology techniques for the preparation, characterization, and study of samples. Within the E2M department, they will assist in the training of students and the analysis of chemical species.
Main Activities
Research
• Management of the clinical isolates biobank of pathogens including class 2 pathogens
• Contribution to the training of doctoral students
• Know and apply safety rules
• Manage and follow up on orders
• Proceed with waste management in compliance with hygiene and safety rules
• Write and update preparation sheets and technical protocols
• Conduct in vitro experiments to evaluate the activity of molecules with potential anti-infectious activity and analyze the results
Pedagogy
• Be present and assist students in the practical room in collaboration with teaching researchers
• Provide the necessary reagents, solutions, etc. for practical sessions
• Conduct analyses (UV and IR)
• Ensure compliance with hygiene and safety rules
• Ensure the link between the teaching team and students during sessions
Profile Sought
• Education and/or qualification: Bachelor’s degree + 5
• Previous experiences are welcome for the position: experience in medical mycology
Minimum Education Level Required
• Level Level 7 Master/equivalent diplomas
• Specialization Chemistry-biology, biochemistry
Expected Skills
General, theoretical or disciplinary knowledge: Biology (general knowledge), regulations on hygiene and safety, work in L2 sector
Operational know-how: Implement biology techniques, use software specific to the activity, propose operating modes
Soft skills: Relationship skills, organizational skills, ability to work in a team
