About the Role

A reputable Microfinance Bank is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Credit Risk Analyst to support the Bank's lending activities by conducting thorough credit assessments and ensuring compliance with approved credit policies and risk management standards.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating credit applications, identifying potential risks, and making recommendations that support sound credit decisions while maintaining portfolio quality.

Key Responsibilities
• Review and analyze credit applications and provide recommendations highlighting identified risks.
• Assess the creditworthiness of prospective and existing customers through financial and non-financial analysis.
• Conduct credit checks, due diligence, customer visits, and verification exercises.
• Ensure timely processing of credit requests and maintain accurate credit application status records.
• Monitor assigned loan portfolios to ensure compliance with approved terms and the Bank's risk appetite.
• Evaluate top-up loan requests and prepare comprehensive credit assessment reports.
• Prepare call reports, credit memoranda, and other risk management reports as required.
• Support the preparation and coordination of Credit Analysis Committee and Risk Committee meetings.
• Ensure adherence to internal credit policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare periodic risk reports and provide insights on emerging credit risks.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Banking, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2–5 years' experience in credit analysis, risk management, or lending within a financial institution.
• Strong understanding of credit appraisal techniques and financial statement analysis.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.
• Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
• High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Adhere to Turnaround Time (TAT) on credit requests and assigned tasks.
• Compliance with approved credit policies and procedures.
• Quality and accuracy of credit assessments and recommendations.
• Timeliness and completeness of weekly and monthly reports.
• Portfolio quality and risk monitoring effectiveness.
• Accuracy of customer verification and due diligence activities.
