Job Title: Legal Operations & Audit Manager
Location: Remote (Nigeria)

Working Days- Monday - Saturdays
Time - 7am - 4pm Est
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Legal Operations & Audit Manager to oversee, monitor, audit, and manage assigned legal cases while supervising the performance, productivity, and compliance of our U.S.-based attorneys and legal teams. The successful candidate will conduct operational and legal audits, ensure adherence to internal SOPs, identify compliance gaps, work on assigned legal matters, and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.
Key Responsibilities
• Work on assigned legal cases and ensure timely progression in accordance with firm policies and quality standards.
• Monitor and audit the performance, productivity, and compliance of U.S. attorneys and legal staff.
• Conduct regular operational, quality, and compliance audits of legal teams and case files.
• Review attorney work product and case documentation to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with internal SOPs.
• Track and analyze KPIs, turnaround times, case progress, and productivity metrics.
• Identify operational risks, compliance deficiencies, and process gaps, and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare detailed audit reports, compliance findings, performance dashboards, and management reports.
• Collaborate with department heads to implement corrective and preventive measures.
• Ensure timely completion of assigned legal tasks and adherence to service-level expectations.
• Develop and improve audit procedures, internal controls, and legal operational processes.
• Conduct follow-up audits to ensure corrective actions have been effectively implemented.
• Assist in training, mentoring, and coaching legal personnel based on audit findings and operational needs.
Perform any other duties, responsibilities, or assignments as may be delegated or assigned by Management from time to time, consistent with the requirements of the role and the operational needs of the Firm.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Law (LL.B.) or related field; a Master's degree is an added advantage.
Must be called to the Nigerian Bar
Minimum of 7 years' experience in legal operations, legal management, compliance, or a similar leadership role.
Strong understanding of legal workflows and case management.
Excellent analytical, leadership, and organizational skills.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
