Role Description The Loan Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Ilorin, responsible for managing the end-to-end loan process for individual and business clients. This role involves identifying potential borrowers, conducting initial consultations, and collecting required documentation to assess creditworthiness and eligibility.

The Loan

Officer will perform financial analysis, support underwriting activities, prepare loan proposals, and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. Daily tasks include processing loan applications, tracking approvals and disbursements, maintaining accurate records, and following up with clients on repayments and renewals. The role also requires providing responsive customer service, educating borrowers on loan products and terms, and contributing to portfolio growth while managing risk.

Qualifications

Demonstrated experience in loan officer or lending-related roles, with a solid understanding of Loan Officers and Loan Origination functions.

Strong knowledge of Finance principles, including credit analysis, risk assessment, and basic accounting.

Hands-on experience with Underwriting processes, documentation review, and regulatory compliance in lending.

Excellent Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, build trust, and handle client inquiries professionally.

Relevant academic background, such as a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.

Proficiency in using standard office software and loan management systems; strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to work on-site in Ilorin, manage multiple cases simultaneously, and meet time-sensitive targets.

Prior experience in MSME lending or retail banking, and familiarity with the Nigerian financial services environment, is an added advantage.
