Backend Engineer (Node.js or Go)

About ZeroCard
ZeroCard is building a crypto spending account that lets users spend digital assets seamlessly through virtual and physical cards. We’re building the infrastructure that connects crypto with everyday payments.
Responsibilities
• Build and maintain backend APIs and services using Node.js or Go.
• Develop secure and reliable features for our financial products.
• Design and maintain wallet, ledger, payment, and transaction systems.
• Collaborate with the product and engineering teams to deliver new features.
• Write clean, tested, and maintainable code.
• Identify and fix bugs, improve performance, and ensure system reliability.
Requirements
• Experience building backend applications with Node.js or Go.
• Experience working on financial systems, especially payments, wallets, ledgers, or reconciliation.
• Good understanding of APIs, databases, and system design.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Able to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
• Hungry to solve challenging engineering problems and build products from the ground up.
Compensation
This is an equity-only (ESOP) role. There is no cash compensation at this stage.
We’re looking for someone who believes in the vision and wants to help build the company from an early stage. As ZeroCard grows, this role is expected to transition into a paid position, with the opportunity to become a key early engineering leader.
