Job Description
Senior Fullstack Engineer (Backend Lean)
Location: Lagos, Nigeria (remote) Type: Full-time Team: Engineering About Ezrah
Ezrah is a decentralised identity and verifiable data infrastructure company. We apply cryptographic signatures to events, activities, and data records so any party can verify authenticity, without relying on a trusted intermediary. Our products span credential issuance, compliance tooling, financial data integrity, and identity verification, built on Polygon. We're a small, high-output engineering team. Everyone owns real surface area from day one. The role
We're looking for a senior fullstack engineer with a backend-first instinct. You're most at home designing systems — APIs, data models, queue workers, service boundaries — but you can cross into the frontend when the work demands it. You'll be a primary builder on the ERP system, compliance tracking platform, and core API infrastructure that powers everything Ezrah runs.
You'll work from tickets and defined tasks, but we expect more than execution. The right person flags design gaps before they become bugs and takes ownership of their surface area — not just the line of code they were assigned. What you'll own
Design and build backend services in NestJS — REST and GraphQL APIs, business logic, service architecture
Own and evolve the data layer using Prisma and PostgreSQL — schema design, migrations, query optimisation
Build and maintain BullMQ job queues and background workers for async workflows
Implement core modules of the ERP system end-to-end — from data model to API contract
Build the compliance tracking backend — audit trails, controls, reporting pipelines
Contribute to frontend work in Vue when required — dashboards, internal tools, data views
Participate in technical design sessions and API contract decisions with the CTO What we're looking for
Must have
5+ years of professional Node.js backend development
Strong, production-tested NestJS experience — modules, guards, interceptors, dependency injection
Deep Prisma experience — schema design, migrations, complex queries, relation handling
PostgreSQL fluency — schema optimisation, indexing, transactions
Experience with job queue systems — BullMQ, Bull, or equivalent
TypeScript as your default — no exceptions
REST and GraphQL API design experience at production scale Strong plus:
Experience with Docker and containerised deployments
Exposure to financial or compliance systems — audit trails, data integrity, access control
Familiarity with Go or other strongly typed backend languages
Understanding of event-driven architecture patterns
What we're not looking for
Engineers who treat backend as the only thing that matters — you need to be able to ship a dashboard when the work calls for it
Someone who needs close supervision to unblock themselves
Engineers without TypeScript depth — this is non-negotiable at Ezrah What you'll get
Direct collaboration with the CTO on architecture and system design
Real ownership — you'll be the primary builder on systems that matter
Competitive salary commensurate with experience A fast-moving codebase where your work ships and has visible impact How to apply
