Job Title: Regional Head, Corporate Banking |Financial Institution – South West
Grade Level: Senior Manager – Assistant General Manager (SM–AGM)
Location: South West, Nigeria
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven banking leader to oversee the Corporate Banking portfolio across the South West region. The role is responsible for driving large-ticket corporate relationships, structured credit solutions, revenue growth, and portfolio quality across key corporate and institutional clients.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in corporate lending, credit structuring, and relationship management of large corporates across multiple sectors.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the Corporate Banking business across the South West region
• Develop and execute strategies to grow corporate lending and deposit portfolios
• Manage and deepen relationships with large corporate and institutional clients
• Originate and structure complex credit facilities, including term loans, trade finance, and working capital solutions
• Oversee credit assessment, risk analysis, and approval processes for corporate deals
• Ensure high-quality portfolio performance and strong asset quality management
• Drive revenue growth through cross-sell of treasury, trade, and investment products
• Identify new corporate business opportunities across key industries (oil & gas, manufacturing, FMCG, telecoms, etc.)
• Lead and manage relationship managers and corporate banking teams across branches
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to drive strategic positioning
• Ensure strict compliance with credit policies, regulatory requirements, and internal risk standards
• Prepare and present performance reports and portfolio insights to senior leadership
Requirements
• Minimum of 10–15 years’ experience in Corporate Banking, Commercial Banking, or related credit roles
• Strong background in corporate lending, structured finance, and credit risk management
• Proven experience managing large corporate portfolios and high-value clients
• Experience leading relationship managers or corporate banking teams
• Strong understanding of financial analysis, balance sheet structuring, and credit appraisal
• Demonstrated ability to originate and close large-ticket deals
• Strong knowledge of South West corporate market landscape
• Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication skills
• Strong strategic thinking and execution capability
