Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and driven Vice President (VP) of Investment Banking to lead transaction origination and execution, manage key client relationships, and oversee junior team development. The ideal candidate will operate at the core of deal teams, transforming strategic ideas into successful executions across M&A, capital markets, and advisory mandates.
Key Responsibilities
• Deal Origination & Execution
Originate M&A, capital markets, and corporate advisory opportunities with support from senior leadership
Lead end-to-end execution of complex financial transactions
Manage due diligence processes, preparation of marketing materials, and virtual data room coordination
Structure M&A transactions for corporate clients, including mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures
Coordinate debt and equity capital market transactions
• Client Relationship Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for corporate executives and investor groups
Pitch new business opportunities and present strategic financial solutions
Support clients in negotiations, including valuations, transaction terms, and purchase agreements
• Team Leadership & Delivery Oversight
Review financial models, valuation work, and pitchbooks prepared by Analysts and Associates
Assign tasks and manage deal workflows to ensure timely execution
Mentor, train, and conduct performance reviews for junior team members
• Business Development & Strategy
Identify market trends and macroeconomic developments to generate transaction ideas
Drive new client acquisition and revenue generation for the firm
Contribute to overall strategic direction of the investment banking division
Qualifications
• Minimum of 4 years as an Investment Banking Associate OR 6–8 years of total relevant financial services experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field
• MBA from a top-tier business school is an added advantage
• Professional certifications in Finance, Accounting, or Investment Management are a plus
Skills Required
• Advanced corporate finance and valuation expertise
• Strong financial modeling skills (DCF, LBO, Accretion/Dilution analysis)
• Deep understanding of sector-specific financial dynamics
• Excellent project management and execution capability
• High emotional intelligence and strong client management skills
• Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Strong leadership and team development capability
Compensation and Benefits
• Annual compensation: ₦20 million – ₦25 million (depending on experience and capacity)
