About Echezona is building the next generation of African financial infrastructure secure, scalable, and developer-first. We’re creating seamless payment experiences for businesses, banks, and consumers across Nigeria. We’re now scaling our payment capabilities through Android and embedded POS terminals and need a dedicated POS Engineer who can efficiently develop secure, compliant solutions leveraging modern AI-assisted coding tools like Cursor.

Role Overview: As a POS Software Engineer, you’ll lead the design, development, and deployment of secure, PCI-compliant software across both smart Android terminals (ZssT, Centerm) and embedded terminals (Pax D210). You will utilize cutting-edge AI-powered coding assistance tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot) to streamline development, debugging, and deployment processes—accelerating feature delivery and maintaining best-practice standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Android-based POS apps using Flutter, Kotlin, or Java.
• Build and manage embedded applications in C/C++ for card terminals (Pax D210).
• Integrate secure APIs and payment gateways ensuring compliance with PCI DSS standards.
• Utilize AI-assisted coding tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot) daily to accelerate development cycles.
• Ensure apps are optimized for offline transaction processing, EMV/NFC payments, and seamless sync to backend.
• Handle debugging, optimization, and updates through modern development workflows.
• Maintain clear documentation, particularly around security, compliance, and integration processes.

Requirements

• 3+ years experience developing Android or embedded payment applications.
• Proficiency in Flutter, Kotlin/Java, or C/C++.
• Experience developing secure software compliant with PCI DSS and other security frameworks.
• Proven expertise integrating with payment SDKs (EMV, NFC, ISO-8583, Interswitch).
• Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools (Cursor, Copilot) or strong willingness to adopt.

Nice to Have

• Prior deployment experience with ZssT, Pax, Centerm, or Sunmi devices.
• Experience with offline-first transaction syncing solutions.
• Familiarity with Firebase, OTA updates, or POS MDM solutions.
