Internship Opportunity: Project Manager & Area Coordinator

Location: Nigeria (Remote/Hybrid with field activities)

Duration: 3–6 Months (Renewable)

About College Chess

College Chess is an educational and sports development initiative focused on promoting chess across secondary schools, colleges, and universities in Nigeria. Our goal is to register schools, establish chess clubs, organize competitions, and create opportunities for students to develop critical thinking, leadership, and problem-solving skills through chess.

We are expanding nationwide and seeking passionate individuals to join our team as Intern Project Managers and Area Coordinators.

Position Overview

The Intern Project Manager & Area Coordinator will support the implementation of College Chess programs within assigned Local Government Areas (LGAs). Successful candidates will help identify, register, and maintain relationships with schools while coordinating local chess activities and events.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and register schools within assigned LGAs.

• Build relationships with school administrators, principals, and educational stakeholders.

• Coordinate school outreach campaigns and awareness programs.

• Maintain accurate records of registered schools and contacts.

• Assist in planning and organizing chess competitions, workshops, and training sessions.

• Monitor project progress and submit weekly reports.

• Recruit and supervise volunteers within assigned areas.

• Represent College Chess professionally during meetings and events.

• Support data collection and analysis for project growth.

• Assist in achieving school registration targets.

RequirementsEducational Qualification

• OND, HND, Bachelor's Degree, or currently enrolled in a tertiary institution.

• Graduates of Education, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Project Management, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related fields are encouraged to apply.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and meet targets.

• Good organizational and leadership abilities.

• Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Email).

• Ability to prepare reports and maintain records.

• Experience in community engagement is an advantage.

• Knowledge of chess is beneficial but not mandatory.
