Job Summary The Core Banking Officer will manage and support the Bank’s core banking system, digital banking channels, and payment integrations. The role ensures smooth transaction processing, system stability, and efficient banking operations in a fintech-driven microfinance environment. The ideal candidate will help set up and optimize core banking processes from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
Core Banking Operations
• Administer and configure the Core Banking System (products, accounts, GL, workflows, users).
• Support setup of savings, current, loans, fixed deposits, and wallets.
• Ensure system stability, uptime, and performance.
Digital Banking & Integrations
• Support mobile, internet, USSD, POS, card, and wallet integrations.
• Manage API integrations with third-party payment platforms.
• Monitor transaction flows and resolve processing issues.
Transaction & Reconciliation Support
• Monitor daily transactions and resolve failures, reversals, and exceptions.
• Support reconciliation across channels and settlement processes.
• Ensure accurate posting of transactions and ledger balances.
Product & System Support
• Configure loan, savings, and fixed deposit products.
• Support repayment schedules, interest calculations, and account setups.
• Assist with teller and transaction processing operations.
Testing & Change Management
• Support UAT, system upgrades, and deployments.
• Document system changes and assist in implementation projects.
Reporting & Compliance
• Generate operational and financial reports.
• Support regulatory compliance (CBN, NDIC) and audit requirements.
• Ensure proper access controls and system governance.
Vendor & Stakeholder Support
• Work with vendors, payment partners, and internal teams.
• Support issue resolution and SLA monitoring.
RequirementsEducation
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Finance, Banking, Engineering, or related field.
Experience
• 4–7 years in Core Banking, Digital Banking, or Fintech operations.
• Experience with core banking systems and payment integrations.
• Strong understanding of banking operations, reconciliation, and transaction processing.
• Experience in fintech, microfinance, or digital banking preferred.
