Role Overview
• We seek an experienced, results-driven Senior Marketing Officer with deep knowledge of Nigeria’s agricultural wholesale market, proven track record selling Garri, Watermelon, Soyabeans, and related commodities in large volumes, plus digital skills to identify and connect with buyers locally and globally.
• Your priority: grow sales and market share within Nigeria first, while building our database of buyers across West Africa, Europe, USA, and Asia for future expansion.
• You will combine field sales, market intelligence, and modern trade software to drive revenue, build loyalty, and strengthen our brand as a leading supplier.
Key Responsibilities
Domestic Market Development (Primary Focus):
• Sell in wholesale quantities: Garri, Watermelon, Soyabeans, Cassava chips, Palm oil, and other farm produce to major buyers – market associations, food processors, distributors, wholesalers, state institutions, and large retailers across all Nigerian states.
• Map and visit key markets: Bodija, Ojo, Mile 12, Onitsha, Kano, Enugu, Port Harcourt, etc.; build strong, lasting relationships with traders, cooperative societies, and bulk buyers.
• Set and achieve monthly/quarterly sales targets; negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules aligned with company profitability and market rates.
• Monitor regional demand, seasonal trends, pricing, and competitor activity; report insights and recommend strategies to maximise sales and margins.
• Represent F4Global at agricultural trade fairs, commodity exchanges, and industry forums across Nigeria.
Digital & Global Buyer Sourcing:
• Use international trade and B2B platforms to identify, research, and qualify potential buyers, importers, and distributors across Africa, Europe, UK, USA, and Asia:
• Trade platforms: Tradologie, Alibaba, Trade Map, Panjiva, ImportGenius, GlobalTrade.net
• CRM & outreach: LinkedIn Sales Navigator, WhatsApp Business, HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho CRM
• Data tools: ITC Trademap, UN Comtrade, trade statistics portals to analyse import volumes, pricing, and market requirements
• Build and maintain a structured database of verified buyers; track interactions, inquiries, and conversion status.
• Prepare product presentations, price lists, and export documentation; respond promptly to inquiries and coordinate with our export team for international leads.
Strategy & Operations:
• Work with production/logistics teams to align supply with market demand; advise on product specifications, packaging, and volumes based on customer needs.
• Ensure all transactions comply with Nigerian regulations, NEPC requirements, and quality standards (Global GAP, organic, food safety).
• Prepare weekly/monthly reports: sales performance, market trends, new opportunities, and pipeline analysis.
• Contribute to marketing materials: brochures, catalogues, website updates, and promotional content.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Sales & Revenue:
• Achieve 100%+ monthly sales target (volume & value) for domestic market – starting at minimum 500MT/month combined commodities
• Grow domestic sales volume 20%+ quarter-on-quarter
• Maintain ≥90% customer retention rate among key wholesale buyers
• Secure 5+ new major bulk buyers per month across Nigeria
Market Intelligence & Development
• Complete market coverage: visit 8+ key markets/states per month; submit detailed market report
• Build database: ≥100 qualified buyers within 3 months; ≥300 within 6 months
• Identify 3+ new high-potential markets/regions per quarter
• Submit accurate weekly pricing & trend reports within 24 hours of collection
Digital & International Pipeline:
• Source 15+ verified international leads per month
• Convert ≥10% of inquiries to quotations; ≥3% to trial orders
• Maintain 100% accurate, updated buyer database in CRM system
• Master and use all approved trade software/platforms daily; train others where needed
Quality & Compliance:
• Zero complaints regarding product quality or specification mismatch
• 100% correct documentation and compliance with trade regulations
• Customer satisfaction score ≥ 85%+ in quarterly surveys.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Education
• B.Sc / HND in Marketing, Business Administration, Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, or related field
• Professional certification: CIM, ANAN, or sales/marketing certification is an advantage.
