We are recruiting for one of our clients for the position of Junior Backend Developer.
Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: ₦200,000 Monthly
Job Summary The Junior Backend Developer will be responsible for building and maintaining server-side applications, APIs, and database systems. The ideal candidate should have a solid foundation in backend development, a willingness to learn, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, test, and maintain APIs and server-side logic.
• Implement business logic and handle data processing tasks.
• Work with databases, including CRUD operations, queries, and basic optimization.
• Integrate third-party services such as payment gateways and messaging platforms.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve backend-related issues.
• Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure seamless API integration.
• Write unit tests and follow secure coding practices.
Requirements
• Proficiency in at least one backend language/framework (preferably Python/Django).
• Basic understanding of RESTful APIs and authentication methods (JWT, sessions).
• Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Knowledge of Git and basic software architecture principles.
• Understanding of asynchronous processing (e.g., queues, background jobs) is an advantage.
• 1–2 years of relevant work experience.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
