We’re seeking a highly motivated and skilled Backended Software to join our core technology team in Lagos, Nigeria.
You will be instrumental in the development, maintenance, and scaling of our critical, high-availability financial services platform. This role requires deep expertise in PHP and the Laravel framework, with a strong focus on building secure, scalable, and efficient backened services that power our lending, investment, and payment ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and Maintain APIs- Design, build, and maintain robust, high performance RESTful APOs to power our mobile and web applications, ensuring high throughput and low latency.
• Core System Development - Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code for our core PHP/Laravel-based backened systems, including loan management, user authentication, payment processing, and ledger systems.
• Dataase Management - Optimize and manage our database (primarily MySQL), ensuring data integrity, security, and performance under heavy load.
• System Integration - Integrate third-party financial services and tools, such as payment gateways, credit bureaus, and reporting platforms.
• Testing and Quality Assurance - Implement unit, integration, and functional tests to ensure code quality and system reliability.
• Troubleshooting - Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, bugs, and other system issues.
✅ Requirements:
• 3+ years of professional experience in Backened Software
• Proficiency in PHP and the Laravel Framework.
• Strong experience with relational databases, specifically MySQL, including query optimization and schema design.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP), design patterns, and software development best practices.
• Experience in developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with Git and version control workflows.
• A strong commitment to writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Must own a laptop
✅Additional Bonus Requirements
• Previous experience working within the Fintech industry, particularly with lending, payments, or investment platforms.
• Experience with microservices architecture or event-driven design.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker).
