Job Description
QShop is a mobile-first, African-focused e-commerce platform designed to help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) quickly build online stores and sell via WhatsApp.

This is not a design role. This is not a post-scheduling role. This is a content creation and storytelling role.
We need someone who can walk into a QShop merchant's store, find the interesting angle in their story, shoot a compelling Reel on the spot, and also sit down and craft a written piece that makes another small business owner think, that could be me.
You will own QShop's social media presence end-to-end, and you will build our merchant story library, the proof that QShop works, told through the people using it.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
Social Media (Instagram, TikTok)
• Daily and weekly content, Reels, behind-the-scenes, product explainers, tips for small business owners
• Hook writing, caption writing, and posting, you understand what stops a scroll
• Tracking what performs and adjusting the approach week to week
• Coordinating with our designer for polished edits when needed, but able to publish strong content independently
Merchant Storytelling
• Working with our business support team to identify merchants with compelling stories
• Conducting short story interviews and shoots at merchant locations in Lagos
• Producing written merchant features (600–900 words) for the QShop blog and monthly Small Business Pulse
• Turning merchant shoots into social content — Reels, quote cards, story highlights
Content Pipeline
• Maintaining a 4-week rolling content calendar
• Batch shooting sessions with merchants
• Ensuring QShop's voice stays consistent
YOU'RE RIGHT FOR THIS IF
• You can pick up a phone and shoot something compelling without a production crew
• You understand the difference between lifestyle content and business storytelling, and can do both
• You have made content for a brand, a startup, or yourself that drove real engagement
• You’re a natural on camera and can tell stories in an engaging way
• You can write, not just captions, but real sentences that carry a point of view
• You follow SME culture closely and know who your audience is
• You are self-directing, you don't wait to be told what to post
THIS IS NOT FOR YOU IF
• You need a full brief and approval chain before publishing anything
• Your portfolio is entirely personal content or entertainment, we need business storytelling experience
• You are not comfortable doing field work (visiting merchants, shooting on location)
• You are not comfortable being on camera
• You expect to hand off writing to someone else
HOW TO APPLY In addition to your CV, please share the following
• A short note (not a formal cover letter), tell us who you are and why this role makes sense for you
• Your portfolio or 3 - 5 examples of content you've made for a brand or business (not personal content)
• At least one example of written storytelling, a brand feature, a merchant profile, a blog post, anything that shows you can write
