BACKGROUND INFORMATION ON PLAN INTERNATIONAL
Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls.
We believe in the power and potential of every child yet too often, this potential is suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion, and discrimination. And its girls are among those most affected. By working together with children, young people, our supporters, and partners, we strive to create a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children.

We support children’s rights from birth until they reach adulthood. And we enable children to prepare for, and respond to crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge.

We have been building powerful partnerships for children for over 85 years, and are now active in more than 80 countries.

In the context of of Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC), visibility helps amplify evidence-based interventions that influence attitudes, challenge harmful social and gender norms, and promote positive behaviours among adolescents, young people, and communities.

As digital platforms continue to shape opinions and behaviours, social media has become an increasingly important channel for development communication, particularly among young people.

This engagement is intended to support the development of digital content that will;

• Promote positive sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) behaviours

• Challenge harmful social and gender norms

• Encourage positive masculinity

• Increase awareness and utilisation of Adolescent Corners as safe, confidential, and adolescent-friendly service delivery points
