HSE Officer — Gas Plant Operations

OnsiteTemp-to-Perm5+ Years ExperienceImmediate StartRef: MGE-JD-003-2026

Macdillions Global Energy is seeking a dedicated, proactive HSE Officer to join our permanent onsite team. You will be our embedded safety professional — present at every maintenance event, empowered to stop any work that presents an unacceptable risk, and responsible for maintaining our ISO 45001:2018 certified HSE management system across all field operations in a live gas plant environment.

About the role

This is not a desk role. You will be on the ground, leading Toolbox Meetings, monitoring PPE compliance, inspecting work areas, managing the PTW process, and building a safety culture where every team member looks out for one another. At MGE, the HSE Officer is not there to sign paperwork — you are a core member of the operational team.

What you'll be doing

• Lead daily Toolbox Meetings and JSA reviews for all maintenance activities
• Monitor PPE compliance and gas detection equipment — all instruments calibrated and bump-tested daily
• Coordinate Permit to Work (PTW) and LOTO compliance — MGE's PTW focal point with the client's Operations team
• Investigate all incidents, near misses, and unsafe acts — written reports within 72 hours, RCA within 5 business days
• Maintain the site HSE register — tracking near misses, observations, corrective actions, and close-out status
• Report monthly HSE KPIs to MGE Contract Director
• Maintain and update the onsite Emergency Response Plan (ERP) — lead the annual joint emergency drill
• Deliver minimum two formal HSE training sessions per year for the full field team

What we're looking for

• Degree, HND, or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or Engineering
• Minimum 5 years in an HSE role within oil & gas, LNG, petrochemical, or heavy industrial environments
• Direct experience working in or around LNG or gas processing facilities — hazardous area classification and PTW experience essential
• Working knowledge of ISO 45001:2018 · PTW systems · LOTO · ATEX/IECEx classified areas · EN PPE standards
• Proactive communicator, calm under pressure, strong documentation discipline, and a genuine safety advocate

What we offer

• Competitive salary benchmarked to LNG industry HSE rates
• Structured Temp-to-Perm pathway — permanent employment based on demonstrated performance
• A management team that genuinely values HSE — Stop Work Authority is unconditional and fully supported
• Named permanent role within a stable, long-term programme — not a short-term project
