Job Position: Chief Accounting Officer
Job Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Role Description
• This is a full-time, on-site role located in Ibadan for a Chief Accounting Officer (Candidate must already live in ibadan, preferably within close proximity to the radio station).
• The Chief Accounting Officer will be responsible for preparing financial statements, managing financial records (including bookkeeping, account reconciliation, payroll, and finahcial reporting to ensure accuracy & compliance, tax compliance & statutory filings) and conducting financial analysis.
• The ideal candidate must be trustworthy, detail-driven, discreet, and able to handle sensitive financial information with complete integrity.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
• General Accounting: Maintain general ledgers, process invoices, prepare journal entries, and handle reconciliations for bank accounts
• Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss statements.
• Budgeting and Monitoring: Track project expenditures against budgets, monitor cash flow, and report on variances.
• Compliance and Audit: Ensure adherence to tax laws, internal policies, and support external audits.
• Payroll and Administration: Process payroll and manage, record, and verify receipts and payments.
Qualifications
• B.Sc. / HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• 2-4 years of accounting experience (media or FMCG background is an advantage).
• Experience preparing financial reports for senior management is an added asset.
• Excellent Excel proficiency (Pivot tables, reconciliation formulas, basic financial modelling) or other accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or equivalent).
• Strong numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and documentation discipline.
