Vacancy: Vice President, Finance
We are seeking to engage an experienced and highly competent
Vice President, Finance
to provide strategic financial leadership, treasury oversight, regulatory reporting support and operational finance management.
The ideal candidate will be a senior finance professional with strong technical accounting experience, sound commercial judgement, treasury experience and a good understanding of capital market operations.
Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Leading the preparation of timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with IFRS and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Overseeing core finance operations, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, cashbook management and payment documentation.
• Driving the company’s budgeting process, including budget preparation, implementation, monitoring and variance analysis.
• Preparing management reports, financial analyses, dashboards and board-level reports to support executive decision-making.
• Managing treasury operations, including cashflow forecasting, liquidity planning, banking operations, payments, investments, funding and capital management.
• Monitoring and managing FX, interest rate, credit and other treasury-related exposures.
• Supporting capital market operations through financial analysis, transaction support, fee modelling, revenue projections and regulatory capital planning.
• Ensuring timely preparation and submission of statutory and regulatory returns, tax filings and other finance-related reports.
• Coordinating with auditors, tax consultants, regulators and other external advisers.
• Overseeing payroll administration, statutory deductions and remittances.
• Designing and monitoring internal controls to safeguard company assets, improve reporting reliability and reduce financial leakages.
• Providing finance-related oversight of vendor payments, operational expenses, petty cash and expenditure controls.
• Leading and developing the finance team while working closely with Executive Management and other departments.
• Any other related services as may be required
Required Qualifications and Experience The preferred candidate must have:
• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification as a member of
ICAN or ACCA
. This is mandatory.
• A minimum of
15 years’ post-NYSC experience
, with strong experience in finance leadership, financial control, treasury, reporting, or related functions.
• Demonstrable treasury experience, including liquidity planning, cash flow forecasting, banking operations, and financial risk management.
• Good working knowledge of
capital market operations
, including relevant transaction flows, regulatory expectations, and reporting obligations.
• Experience in investment banking, asset management, securities, advisory, or related environments will be an advantage.
• Experience working within a
group structure or multi-entity environment
will be an added advantage.
Required Skills The candidate should demonstrate:
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills.
• Sound knowledge of IFRS, Nigerian tax requirements, and statutory deductions.
• Excellent treasury, liquidity, and cash flow management skills.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis capability.
• Advanced financial modelling and analytical skills.
• Good knowledge of accounting software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• High integrity, attention to detail, commercial awareness, and ability to work under pressure.
