Context/Job Overview:
The Mid-to-Senior Backend Engineer will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of backend systems that are scalable, reliable, and secure. This role requires expertise in building complex architectures, managing databases, and integrating with APIs. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior developers, and contribute to the backend strategy to drive high-quality software solutions that meet business goals.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and secure backend services, APIs, and databases.
• Lead and participate in the full software development lifecycle for backend projects.
• Optimize data storage, retrieval, and server-side processing for performance and efficiency.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, DevOps, and product teams to implement robust solutions.
• Define and enforce backend coding standards, testing practices, and documentation.
• Troubleshoot complex backend issues, ensuring high system reliability and uptime.
• Contribute to the technical strategy, architecture decisions, and adoption of emerging technologies.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience:
• 4 - 8 years of experience in backend development or software engineering.
• Proven experience leading backend projects and implementing scalable systems.
• Experience in cloud infrastructure, API design, and integrating third-party services.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, testing frameworks, and version control workflows.
• Exposure to web application development and database integration.
• Proven experience using C#, .NET Core, as well as other languages such as Python, Java, Node.js
• Strong hands-on experience with designing, developing, and integrating RESTful APIs and Web Services
• Solid understanding of relational (SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases, including data modeling and query optimization
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and deploying scalable, secure backend applications
• Proficiency in using version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines for automated build, testing, and deployment
