Job Title: Management Accountant-LPG Industry
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Position Type: Full-time
Job Summary The Management Accountant will be responsible for providing accurate, timely financial data and operational analysis to the COO to drive decision-making. The role involves managing the weekly/monthly reporting cycle, monitoring LPG operational costs, performing variance analysis, and ensuring effective financial integration and intercompany reconciliation between companies and its subsidiaries.
Key Responsibilities
Weekly/Monthly Financial & Operational Reporting (Reporting to COO)
• Prepare and submit weekly operational reports (e.g., LPG loading, depot inventory, and truck efficiency) to the COO.
• Prepare monthly management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) within tight deadlines.
• Analyze budget-to-actual variances weekly/monthly, providing commentary on operational expenditures (OPEX) and revenue performance.
• Develop and maintain financial models to forecast inventory levels, sales trends, and cash flow requirements.
Operational Accounting & Cost Control
• Oversee inventory valuation and reconciliation (physical vs. book inventory) for LPG products.
• Analyze and monitor direct/indirect costs of LPG storage, bottling, and distribution.
• Analyze profitability by project, branch, or customer segment.
• Implement cost reduction initiatives in collaboration with the operations team.
Intercompany & Subsidiary Coordination
• Perform monthly intercompany reconciliations and eliminate intercompany balances (sales, loans, management fees) with other subsidiaries to ensure clean consolidation.
• Liaise with finance teams across subsidiary units to standardize reporting formats and accounting policies.
• Ensure accurate recording of cross-charging for shared services or transferred goods/services.
Internal Controls & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and company internal control policies, particularly regarding revenue recognition for LPG sales.
• Support internal and external audits, ensuring timely preparation of audit schedules.
• Ensure timely payment to vendors and prompt collection from customers in coordination with the treasury unit.
Collaboration & Teamwork
• Work with sales, marketing, and operations teams to align financial performance metrics (KPIs) with business strategy.
• Assist the COO in reviewing financial proposals for capital projects (e.g., new terminal, truck fleet acquisition).
Qualifications & Skills
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Certification: Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ICAN, ACCA, CIMA, CITN or CPA).
• Experience: 3–5 years of management accounting experience, preferably in the Oil & Gas, LPG, or Haluage industry.
• Technical Skills: Advanced Excel proficiency, experience with ERP systems ( Tally Prime).
• Core Competencies: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, excellent communication, and ability to work with cross-functional teams.

The Management Accountant must focus on KPIs specific to LPG, including & AR Days & (collection speed), & Gross Profit Margin", and "Inventory Loss Percentage
Reporting Lines:
While the role reports to the COO for operational speed, this role works alongside the VP. Finance & Strategy/Finance Controller for statutory compliance.
Intercompany Risk:
Strict monthly intercompany reconciliations are required to avoid inflating revenue, as highlighted in bestbest practices for subsidiaries.
