Job Description
Company Description

Vindi Petroleum is an innovative petroleum distribution company focused on revolutionizing fuel distribution through its unique franchising and consumer-oriented model. Recognized for its forward-thinking approach, the company aspires to become the largest privately-owned distributor of petroleum products in Africa.
Vindi

Petroleum is committed to driving growth by delivering exceptional value to both franchise partners and customers. As an organization, we foster innovation and aim to set new standards in the petroleum industry.
Role Description The Merchant Acquisition Specialist is a high-impact, field-based role responsible for the aggressive expansion of the
Fuelyapa
retail partner network. You will serve as the primary bridge between Vindi Petroleum and independent station owners.

Your mission is to convince third-party station owners to transition their traditional retail models to the Fuelyapa digital ecosystem, leveraging our volume-driven aggregation model to increase their total profitability. You will navigate complex relationships with oil and gas stakeholders, including trade unions, depots, and refineries, to secure strategic buy-in and onboard 500 stations within a 90-day sprint.

Core Mandate & Responsibilities

• Strategic Prospecting:
Identify and map high-traffic independent petrol stations and retail chains within assigned territories for onboarding.

• Stakeholder Engagement:
Pitch and negotiate partnership terms with station owners, managing directors, and influential stakeholders at depots and trade unions to secure network entry.

• Value Proposition Delivery:
Clearly articulate the Fuelyapa advantage, specifically how trading a fraction of per-liter margin for massive, guaranteed volume leads to higher overall daily profit.

• On-Ground Onboarding:
Manage the end-to-end integration of new stations, including the installation of digital scanning POS systems and the setup of station profiles on the Fuelyapa app.

• Relationship Management:
Build and maintain deep-rooted partnerships with on-ground station managers to ensure seamless service delivery for Fuelyapa users.

• Staff Training:
Conduct rapid training sessions for pump attendants and station staff on processing digital transactions and managing the app interface.

• Market Intelligence:
Provide real-time feedback on competitor pricing (typically ₦1,200 for PMS and ₦2,000 for AGO) and market trends to ensure Fuelyapa remains the preferred choice for users.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Acquisition Rate:
Successfully onboard 20+ active petrol stations within the first 90 days.

• Transaction Volume:
Achieve a specific average daily literage target (PMS and AGO) across your assigned station cluster.

• Onboarding Speed:
Maintain a "Lead-to-Live" timeline of under 7 days per station.

• Platform Health:
100% compliance with digital payment protocols (zero cash-handling at the pump for app users).

• Retention:
Maintain a partner churn rate of less than 2% by ensuring prompt T+1 settlements and high user footfall.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience:
Minimum of 3–5 years in B2B Sales or Merchant Acquisition, specifically within the Nigerian downstream oil and gas sector or FinTech/FMCG distribution.

• Industry Knowledge:
Deep understanding of the petroleum supply chain, including local depot operations and trade union dynamics.

• Negotiation Skills:
Proven ability to close deals with high-net-worth station owners and navigate "gatekeeper" relationships.

• Tech Savvy:
Comfortable with mobile applications and digital POS hardware; able to troubleshoot basic technical issues during onboarding.

• Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.

• Mobility:
Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel extensively within the assigned region.

• Communication:
Fluency in English and local languages relevant to the territory is highly advantageous.
