Role Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Financial Accountant with strong expertise in management accounts preparation and SEC financial/portfolio returns. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and timely submission of statutory returns within a regulated financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare monthly management accounts and performance reports for internal stakeholders

Lead the preparation and timely submission of SEC Financial Returns and Portfolio Returns

Ensure compliance with SEC regulations, IFRS standards, and other regulatory requirements

Maintain accurate general ledger, reconciliations, and financial schedules

Support the preparation of annual financial statements and audit processes

Monitor and interpret regulatory updates, advising management on compliance implications

Liaise with SEC, auditors, tax authorities (FIRS), and other regulators

Strengthen internal controls and financial reporting processes

Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in a financial services or regulated environment (asset management, investment banking, etc.)

Hands-on experience with SEC Returns (mandatory)

Professional certification (ICAN / ACCA) – completed or in progress

Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards

High attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
