Job Summary • The Project Manager will lead strategic initiatives within the Banking PMO to ensure projects align with
• organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and financial targets. This role requires a balance of
• rigorous methodology and the agility to navigate a complex financial services environment.
Responsibilities
• Project Governance: Execute projects using the banks defined framework (Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid) and ensure all documentation meets audit and compliance standards.
• Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for department heads, IT leads, and risk officers to manage expectations and report progress.
• Financial Oversight: Monitor project budgets, track actual spending against forecasts, and manage vendor contracts or procurement processes.
• Risk & Compliance: Identify potential roadblocks including security vulnerabilities or regulatory shifts and develop mitigation strategies to protect the bank & its assets.
• Resource Coordination: Collaborate with functional managers to secure team members and manage cross-departmental dependencies.
Requirements
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Computer Science.
• Experience: 5 years of project management experience, preferably within a retail or investment banking PMO.
• Certification: PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile (CSM/SAFe) certification is highly preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in project tools such as MS Project, Jira, or Clarity PPM, along with a strong understanding of core banking systems or digital transformation.
• Strong analytical skills for interpreting complex financial data.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting to executive steering committees.
• Ability to remain calm and decisive during high-pressure system deployments or go-live & phases.
