Overview A forward-thinking training institute is seeking a passionate and experienced Cybersecurity Instructor/Trainer (Part-Time & Hybrid) to join our team and inspire the next generation of cybersecurity professionals. This part-time hybrid role requires 6 hours per week — 4 hours remote/online (2 hours each for 2 days) and 2 hours on-site for in-person training delivery.
As a Cybersecurity Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive, hands-on training covering core cybersecurity topics and best practices, with a specific focus on preparing students for the Security+ and Certificate in Cybersecurity (CC) certifications. You will mentor aspiring security experts by providing in-depth lessons, interactive labs, and real-world scenarios, ensuring they are well-equipped to thrive in a rapidly evolving threat landscape.
Location: Lagos (Hybrid — Egbeda/Ipaja area)
Compensation: ₦50,000 – ₦120,000 per month (depending on experience)
Hours: 6 hours per week — 2 hours on-site, 4 hours remote
Requirement
Candidate must live in or near the Egbeda/Ipaja area. This hybrid, part-time position involves 2 hours on-site each week and 4 hours of remote work (2 hours each for 2 days), totaling 6 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver structured and engaging training on fundamental cybersecurity concepts, including network security, threat management, and cryptography.
• Prepare students for the Security+ and CC certification exams by covering relevant exam objectives, practice questions, and test-taking strategies.
• Develop and maintain up-to-date course materials, such as lesson plans, hands-on lab exercises, and assessments that align with industry standards.
• Guide students through practical exercises and real-world scenarios, helping them build essential skills in threat detection, incident response, and risk management.
• Foster an engaging learning environment by encouraging collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving among students.
• Continuously refine course content in collaboration with curriculum developers to address new cybersecurity trends and emerging threats.
• Stay current with industry best practices, frameworks, and tools relevant to Security+ and CC certifications.
• Monitor and evaluate student progress, offering constructive feedback and actionable insights to strengthen both technical and soft skills.
• Assist students in troubleshooting common cybersecurity issues, from initial reconnaissance to forensics and remediation.
• Participate in technical workshops and webinars that reinforce real-world application of cybersecurity concepts.
• Provide additional support to students outside regular class sessions as needed, ensuring their continued success.
Qualifications and Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (preferred), or equivalent industry experience.
• 1-3 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on network security, threat analysis, or related disciplines.
• Relevant certifications, such as Security+ and/or Certificate in Cybersecurity (CC), strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, including risk assessments, incident response, and compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with common security tools (e.g., SIEMs, vulnerability scanners, and endpoint protection).
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex security concepts for learners at various skill levels.
• Previous teaching, mentoring, or training experience in cybersecurity or IT is highly advantageous.
• Strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
• A passion for empowering others, guiding students to develop the critical skills needed in today’s cybersecurity landscape.
• Familiarity with emerging security trends and frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO) is a plus.
