Job Description
The Contracts Manager is responsible for the end-to-end management, administration, negotiation, and compliance of all project and commercial contracts within the Oil & Gas operations.
The role requires a highly experienced professional with strong expertise in oil and gas project contracting, commercial risk management, and legal-commercial interface, ensuring all contractual arrangements are structured, executed, and managed in line with company objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
The Contracts Manager plays a critical role in protecting the Company’s commercial interests, mitigating contractual risks, and ensuring successful project delivery through robust contract governance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESA. Contract Development & Negotiation
• Lead the drafting, review, and negotiation of oil and gas project contracts, including EPC, EPCM, service, procurement, and subcontract agreements
• Ensure all contractual terms are commercially sound, legally compliant, and aligned with project objectives
• Negotiate favourable terms with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and joint venture partners
• Develop standard contract templates and clauses in line with company policy and industry best practices
B. Contract Administration & Management
• Manage the full contract lifecycle from initiation to close-out
• Ensure proper execution, documentation, and storage of all contracts
• Monitor contract performance against agreed deliverables, timelines, and KPIs
• Maintain a central contract register and ensure version control and compliance
C. Project Contract Support (Oil & Gas Operations)
• Provide contractual guidance to project managers, engineers, and site teams
• Support interpretation of contract terms during project execution
• Advise on contractual obligations, claims, variations, and change orders
• Ensure alignment between project execution and contractual commitments
D. Claims, Variations & Dispute Management
• Evaluate and manage contract variations, claims, and change requests
• Prepare and defend contractual positions in disputes and negotiations
• Liaise with legal counsel on dispute resolution, arbitration, and litigation matters
• Minimise commercial exposure through proactive contract management
E. Risk Management & Compliance
• Identify contractual and commercial risks across all projects
• Develop mitigation strategies to reduce exposure to financial and operational risk
• Ensure compliance with oil and gas industry regulations, company policies, and applicable laws
• Conduct contract risk assessments prior to execution
F. Stakeholder & Vendor Management
• Interface with internal stakeholders including project teams, finance, procurement, and legal
• Manage relationships with external contractors, service providers, and clients
• Participate in contract-related meetings, negotiations, and project reviews
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s Degree in , Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Business Administration, or related field
• Additional professional certification in Contract Management or Commercial Law is an advantage
• Minimum of 7–10 years’ experience in contracts management, preferably within the Oil & Gas sector
• Strong experience in EPC/EPCM and major oil and gas project contracts
• Proven exposure to project-based contracting environments
