Job Summary
• We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Mid-LevelAccountant to support the finance operations.
• The Accountant will be responsible for day-to-day financial tasks, including recording transactions, preparing financial statements, and conducting financial analysis.
• The role will also involve assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting and strengthen our receivables process.
Responsibilities
Financial Operations
• Manage and record day-to-day financial transactions
• Support preparation of monthly management reports and cash flow tracking
• Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and support reconciliations
• Assist in budget preparation and variance reporting
Tax & Compliance:
• Prepare VAT and WHT schedules and ensure timely submissions
• Support tax planning and maintain accurate tax records
• Ensure compliance with local financial regulations
Documentation & Controls:
• Maintain proper financial documentation and records
• Support internal controls implementation and process improvement
• Prepare financial data for internal and external audits
Collaboration:
• Work closely with internal teams (finance, operations, admin) to ensure seamless accounting support
• Report to the Senior Accountant and Head of Finance
• Carry out other duties as assignedby management.
Qualifications and Skills
• B.Sc. / HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3 - 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment(e-commerce/logistics experience is an advantage)
• Professional certification (ICAN and other relevant accounting certifications)
• Good knowledge of Microsoft suits (Words, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Working knowledge of Nigerian tax requirements (VAT, WHT).
• Experience using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
