Job Summary
The Senior Accountant / General Controller will oversee all financial and accounting operations for Gtext Holdings’ Nigeria business while ensuring alignment with group-level financial policies across international markets. The role combines hands-on accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, compliance, and strategic financial oversight.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting & Accounting
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and Nigerian accounting standards.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
• Consolidate Nigeria financials into group reports.
• Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts.
2. Budgeting & Financial Planning
• Develop annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
• Monitor actual performance vs budget and provide variance analysis.
• Support strategic financial planning for real estate projects and investments.
• Conduct cost analysis for property developments and asset management.
3. Internal Controls & Compliance
• Design and enforce strong internal control systems.
• Ensure compliance with Nigerian regulatory bodies (FIRS, state tax authorities).
• Coordinate audits (internal and external).
• Implement risk management strategies and fraud prevention measures.
4. Treasury & Cash Flow Management
• Monitor and manage cash flow across projects and operations.
• Optimize working capital and liquidity.
• Oversee banking relationships and financing arrangements.
• Manage payment schedules for contractors, vendors, and stakeholders.
5. Tax Management
• Oversee tax planning and compliance (VAT, CIT, WHT, PAYE).
• Liaise with tax authorities and consultants.
• Ensure timely filing and remittance of all statutory obligations.
6. Real Estate Financial Oversight
• Track project costs, revenue recognition, and profitability.
• Manage escrow accounts and client payments.
• Analyze return on investment (ROI) for property developments.
• Support pricing strategies and investment decisions.
7. Team Leadership & Administration
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff.
• Establish efficient accounting processes and systems.
• Collaborate with other departments (sales, legal, operations).
• Report directly to Group CFO or Finance Director.
8. Systems & Process Improvement
• Implement and manage accounting software/ERP systems.
• Drive automation and efficiency in financial processes.
• Ensure data integrity and proper documentation.
Key Requirements
Education & Certification
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional certification required (ICAN, ACCA, CPA).
Experience
• 7–12+ years of accounting/finance experience.
• Minimum 3–5 years in a senior or managerial role.
• Strong experience in real estate or construction is highly preferred.
• Experience working with multinational or group structures.
Technical Skills
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
• Understanding of multi-currency accounting and consolidation.

• Strong leadership and decision-making ability.
• High integrity and attention to detail.
• Strategic thinking with hands-on execution capability.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Timeliness and accuracy of financial reports.

• Audit outcomes (minimal queries/issues).
Reporting Line
• Reports to: Group CFO / Finance Director
• Direct Reports: Accountants, Finance Officers, Payables/Receivables staff

• Nigeria (with coordination across US, UK, and Middle East operations)
Salary: 6million to 8million annual
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₦6,000,000.00 - ₦8,000,000.00 per month
