Job Description
The Senior Banking Officer is responsible for managing customer relationships, driving business growth, and ensuring efficient banking operations. The role involves supervising junior staff, delivering high-quality financial services, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal policies.
Key Responsibilities1. Business Development & Revenue Generation
• Drive deposit mobilization and loan portfolio growth
• Identify and onboard new customers (retail, SME, and corporate)
• Cross-sell banking products (loans, accounts, cards, digital banking)
• Achieve assigned sales and revenue targets
2. Customer Relationship Management
• Manage and grow relationships with existing clients
• Provide financial advisory services to customers
• Resolve customer complaints and ensure high service standards
• Maintain strong customer retention strategies
3. Credit & Risk Management
• Conduct credit analysis and risk assessment for loan applications
• Monitor loan performance and ensure timely repayments
• Ensure compliance with credit policies and regulatory guidelines
• Escalate high-risk exposures appropriately
4. Operations & Compliance
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and banking regulations
• Supervise daily branch or unit operations
• Support audit processes and ensure proper documentation
• Maintain accurate records and reporting
5. Team Leadership & Supervision
• Supervise and mentor junior banking officers and sales staff
• Monitor team performance and productivity
• Provide training and support to enhance team capability
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Deposit growth and loan portfolio size
• Revenue and profitability targets
• Customer acquisition and retention rates
• Loan repayment performance (NPL ratio)
• Compliance and audit ratings
Qualifications & Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Banking, Business Administration, or related field
• 4–8 years of experience in banking or financial services
• Professional certifications (e.g., ACIB) are an added advantage
• Strong knowledge of banking operations, credit analysis, and financial products

Pay: ₦500,000.00 - ₦600,000.00 per month
