Job Title: Head, Affluent Banking | Non - interest Banking.
Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Role Overview The Head, Affluent Banking will lead the strategy, development, and growth of the Bank’s affluent segment, focusing on delivering bespoke, Sharia-compliant financial solutions to high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) and ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs).
This role is responsible for driving client acquisition, deepening existing relationships, and positioning the Bank as a preferred partner for ethical wealth management. The role holder will also build and lead a high-performing team while ensuring alignment with the Bank’s non-interest banking principles.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a comprehensive affluent banking strategy aligned with the Bank’s overall objectives
• Build and scale the affluent segment, including market positioning and value proposition
• Identify growth opportunities within the HNI/UHNI segment across key markets
Client Acquisition & Relationship Management
- Drive acquisition of high-value clients and expand the Bank’s affluent client base
• Manage and grow strategic relationships with HNW/UHNW clients
• Deliver exceptional, personalized client experience across all touchpoints
Product Development & Innovation
- Design and promote tailored, Sharia-compliant financial solutions (e.g., asset-backed financing, investment partnerships, wealth preservation products)
• Collaborate with product, treasury, and investment teams to develop competitive offerings
• Educate clients on non-interest banking principles and value propositions
Revenue & Portfolio Growth
- Drive deposit mobilization and portfolio growth within the affluent segment
• Ensure achievement of revenue, profitability, and balance sheet targets
• Monitor performance metrics and optimize portfolio returns within ethical frameworks
Leadership & Team Management
- Build, lead, and mentor a team of relationship managers and wealth advisors
• Establish performance standards and drive a strong client-centric culture
• Foster collaboration across internal stakeholders
Risk, Compliance & Governance
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements and non-interest banking principles
• Work closely with risk and compliance teams to manage portfolio risks
• Maintain strong governance across all client and investment activities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field (MBA or relevant postgraduate degree is an advantage)
• Minimum of 6-8years’ experience in banking, with at least 3–4 years in wealth management, private banking, or affluent banking
• Proven track record managing HNI/UHNI client portfolios and delivering revenue growth
• Strong understanding of investment products, portfolio management, and advisory services
• Experience in non-interest/Islamic banking is an advantage, but not mandatory
