Job Description
Key Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill and unstable patients.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments and continuously monitor patients' conditions.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
• Administer prescribed medications, intravenous fluids, blood products, and treatments accurately and safely.
• Operate and monitor life-support equipment, including ventilators, cardiac monitors, infusion pumps, and defibrillators.
• Recognize and promptly respond to changes in patients' conditions and medical emergencies.
• Perform advanced nursing procedures in accordance with hospital protocols.
• Monitor vital signs, neurological status, oxygen saturation, and hemodynamic parameters.
• Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, medications, and responses to treatment.
• Maintain complete and up-to-date patient records in accordance with hospital policies.
• Participate actively in multidisciplinary ward rounds and clinical discussions.
• Communicate patients' progress and changes in condition promptly to the medical team.
Requirements
Qualifications
• Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) Practicing Licence.
• Post-basic qualification or certification in Critical Care Nursing is an added advantage.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is an added advantage.
Experience:
• 2–3 years of post-qualification nursing experience.
• At least 1 year of ICU or Critical Care nursing experience is preferred.
