Job Description
Ellasot Consulting is recruiting on behalf of a reputable consumer Finance organization seeking a competent, detail-oriented Lead Accountant to join its team.

The ideal candidate would be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and driving compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will provide leadership to the accounting team, manage financial processes, and support strategic decision-making through insightful financial analysis.

The Key Responsibilities
• Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate financial statements and management reports.
• Supervise and review general ledger activities, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and reconciled.
• Lead loan accounting processes, including loan disbursements, repayments, interest recognition, and portfolio tracking.
• Conduct periodic financial audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
• Ensure timely preparation and submission of statutory and regulatory reports, including VAT, SCUML, and other compliance requirements.
• Monitor and reconcile income, customer repayments, and accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Review statements of accounts and investigate discrepancies or exceptions.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis to support financial planning.
• Track portfolio performance and provide insights on financial risks and opportunities.
• Coordinate internal reporting including weekly and monthly activity reports.
• Provide guidance, supervision, and mentoring to junior accounting staff.
• Liaise with external auditors, regulators, and other stakeholders as required.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost efficiency.



Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 4–6 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in financial services.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with loan accounting and portfolio management is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
• Strong communication and reporting skills.
