Job Description
• Our client is seeking a highly experienced and independent Internal Project Monitoring Manager (IPMM) to join its Risk Management team.

• The successful candidate will provide technical oversight and monitoring of construction, renovation, real estate development, and other project-based credit facilities financed by the Bank.

• The ideal candidate will ensure that financed projects are executed in line with approved plans, budgets, timelines, and quality standards while safeguarding the Bank's interests and minimizing construction-related credit risks.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess project feasibility and review architectural, structural, engineering, and project documentation.

• Validate project budgets, cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), implementation schedules, and contractor qualifications.

• Verify statutory approvals, permits, and regulatory compliance before project commencement.

• Provide technical input during credit appraisal and recommend milestone-based disbursement schedules.

• Conduct periodic site inspections to monitor project progress, quality of work, contractor performance, and compliance with approved specifications.

• Monitor the utilization of loan proceeds and identify project deviations, implementation risks, cost overruns, delays, and scope changes.

• Verify construction milestones, assess work completion, certify drawdown requests, and recommend approval, deferment, partial approval, or rejection where necessary.

• Prepare technical assessment reports, project progress reports, milestone completion reports, exception reports, and final completion reports.

• Provide technical advisory support to the Credit Committee, Risk Management, and Business Development teams while recommending corrective actions to mitigate project risks.

Person Specifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Building, Construction Management, Structural Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, or a related discipline.

• A Master's Degree and relevant professional certifications (e.g., COREN, PMP, PRINCE2, Registered Builder, Quantity Surveyor, or Architect) will be an added advantage.

• Minimum of 10 years' post-qualification experience in construction, engineering, project management, or infrastructure development, with at least 5 years in construction project supervision or monitoring.

• Experience in banking, mortgage finance, project finance, or development finance will be highly desirable.

• Strong knowledge of construction project management, project risk assessment, contract administration, cost control, quality assurance, engineering drawings, HSE compliance, and technical report writing.

• Excellent analytical, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills with a high level of integrity, attention to detail, and professional judgment

Remuneration

N7,000,000 - N8,500,000 annually
