About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accountant to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting accounting operations, preparing financial reports, and ensuring that financial transactions and records are properly documented and reconciled.
The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of accounting principles, strong attention to detail, and preferably have experience working within an audit or professional services environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and financial documentation.
• Record and process financial transactions in accordance with applicable accounting principles and company procedures.
• Prepare and review financial statements, schedules, reports, and supporting documentation.
• Perform regular bank, cash, and ledger reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Monitor accounts payable and receivable and ensure timely recording and follow-up of outstanding balances.
• Assist with the preparation of budgets, financial forecasts, and periodic management reports where required.
• Prepare relevant schedules and documentation for audits and support internal and external audit processes.
• Ensure that accounting records and supporting documents are properly maintained and readily available when required.
• Assist with tax, statutory, and regulatory accounting requirements as applicable.
• Review financial transactions for accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation.
• Identify accounting discrepancies, unusual transactions, or control gaps and escalate them appropriately.
• Support the preparation of audit working papers and other financial documentation.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial and client information.
• Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as may reasonably be assigned.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience working as an Accountant, preferably within an audit firm, accounting practice, or professional services environment.
• ICAN Skills Level or ATS qualification is mandatory.
• Good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other accounting or financial software.
• Ability to reconcile accounts, identify discrepancies, and resolve accounting issues.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be resident in Magodo Lagos or its environs, with convenient access to the workplace.

Pay: ₦150,000.00 - ₦220,000.00 per month
