Job Description
Job Title: Accountant Department: Finance

Reports to: Head of Finance & Accounts

Experience: 3+ years’ relevant experience in preparing financial reports and statements, bank reconciliations, and conducting cyclical audits.

Location: Lekki | Lagos

Salary: 6M Annual Gross (slightly negotiable) Employment Type: Full-Time

Role Overview The ideal candidate will be involved with preparing financial reports and statements, bank reconciliations, and conducting cyclical audits. The candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and possess strong business acumen.

Key Responsibilities

· Create ad-hoc finance reports for various business needs

· Prepare tax documents

· Compile and analyze financial statements

· Manage budgeting and forecasting

· Keeping account records

· Reconciliation of bank statements with account books

· Monitoring of cash flow

· Handle transactions and businesses with all company-registered banks

· Facilitate foreign exchange transfers

· Maintain proper filing of documents relating to financial transactions

· Review invoices and statements

· Prepare financial statements monthly

· Prepare Management Reports and MIS-related reports

· Petty cash administration

· Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.

· Document financial transactions by entering account information.

· Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.

· Maintain financial security by following internal controls.

· Prepare payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.

· Stay up to date with accounting procedure by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.

· Comply with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.

· Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping financial information confidential.

· Monitor and track expenditures, receivables, and payables

· Attend to a variety of administrative details, including developing, implementing, and interpreting policies and procedures and monitoring day-to-day operations of the organization.

Ideal Candidate Profile & Required Competencies The ideal candidate is hands-on in Finance and accounts with strong interpersonal skills and business acumen.

Qualifications & Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field

· Ability to interpret and analyze financial statements and periodicals

· Knowledge of tax computations and filings (PAYE, VAT, CIT, etc.)

· Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

· Knowledge of QuickBooks will be an added advantage
