Job Description
We are looking for a Finance Officer to join our Finance team and play a key role in ensuring accurate financial operations, timely reporting, strong financial controls, and effective financial administration across the organisation.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented finance professional who is comfortable working hands-on with accounting operations and can contribute to improving financial processes and supporting sound business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities The Finance Officer will be responsible for:
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records and accounting schedules.
• Processing invoices, payment requests, expenses, receipts, and other financial transactions.
• Managing accounts payable and receivable and following up on outstanding balances.
• Performing regular bank, ledger, supplier, and customer reconciliations.
• Supporting the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Monitoring expenses and supporting budget preparation and variance analysis.
• Supporting cash management and treasury-related activities.
• Preparing and maintaining schedules for statutory obligations, including PAYE, pension, NHF, NSITF, and ITF.
• Supporting internal and external audits and ensuring proper financial documentation.
• Identifying financial discrepancies, control weaknesses, and opportunities for process improvement.
• Providing financial analysis and information to support management decision-making.
• Supporting the automation and improvement of finance processes.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• ICAN, ACCA, ACA, ANAN, or equivalent professional qualification is preferred.
Experience:
• 2–4 years' relevant experience in accounting or finance operations.
• Practical experience with reconciliations, financial reporting, payables, receivables, and financial record keeping.
• Experience supporting audits and statutory compliance activities.
• Experience with accounting software or ERP systems.
• Experience in financial services, fintech, banking, investment management, or another regulated industry is an advantage.
