Key Responsibilities
• Provide legal advice and guidance to management on corporate and operational matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, contracts, and legal documents.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Manage litigation matters and liaise with external solicitors and regulatory agencies.
• Advise on employment, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance issues.
• Conduct legal research and provide opinions on legal risks and opportunities.
• Support contract administration and dispute resolution processes.
• Monitor changes in relevant legislation and advise management accordingly.
• Protect the company's legal interests and minimize exposure to legal risks.
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Law (LL.B) and BL.
• Qualified Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
• Minimum of 4 years post-call experience, preferably within the oil and gas sector or a reputable law firm.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian corporate, commercial, labor, and oil & gas laws.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and contract management skills.
• Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Membership of relevant professional bodies will be an added advantage.
