WE'RE HIRING: Operations & Project Coordinator (Construction)
On behalf of our client, a building construction, renovation, maintenance and facilities management company serving multinational organizations, diplomatic missions and corporate clients in Lagos.
Location: Lagos, Nigeria (Project Sites)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: ₦500,000 – ₦600,000 gross per month, site allowance.
Applications through:EdnaEvans & Co Ltd (HR Consultancy)
About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced, proactive Operations & Project Coordinator to lead the day-to-day execution of construction and facilities projects — from mobilization through completion — while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety and client satisfaction. This role reports directly to the Managing Director and serves as the primary operations representative on project sites.
What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like
• Coordinate multiple ongoing projects simultaneously, planning daily site activities and keeping every workstream on schedule
• Supervise artisans and subcontractors on site, allocate daily tasks, and monitor productivity and quality of work
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on site — attending inspections, providing updates, and resolving issues as they come up
• Source materials, compare supplier quotations, monitor deliveries, and verify material quality against project specs
• Enforce HSE procedures on site: conduct toolbox talks, ensure PPE compliance, and report incidents or near misses immediately
• Prepare and submit daily site reports, weekly progress reports, site inspection reports, and completion documentation
• Support cost estimation for upcoming works — taking measurements, gathering supplier quotes, and helping prepare competitive figures
• Escalate risks and delays early, and maintain excellent communication with management and clients at every stage
What You Need to Bring
Qualifications & Experience
• B.Sc./HND in Civil Engineering, Building Technology, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, or a related field
• 5+ years of construction project coordination experience, including direct experience managing subcontractors
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
• Working knowledge of HSE practices on active construction sites
• Valid driver's license
Project Management Skills & Tools — Must-Have
• A valid, current project management certification (e.g., PMP)
• Practical, hands-on experience with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Trello, Asana, or similar scheduling/tracking software)
• Demonstrated ability to manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation using structured PM methods, not just experience-based instinct
Other Requirements
• Strong report-writing skills — you'll be producing client-facing documentation regularly
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Preferred (not required, but an advantage)
• Prior experience working with foreign missions, diplomatic clients, or oil & gas/HSE-regulated environments
