Job Description
• We are seeking a commercially minded and detail-oriented Bank & Trade Finance Executive to manage banking relationships, trade finance transactions, cash management, and related financial operations.
• The successful candidate will support the company’s agricultural trading and business activities by ensuring efficient execution of banking and trade finance transactions while maintaining strong relationships with financial institutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage day-to-day relationships and correspondence with banks and other financial institutions.
• Coordinate trade finance transactions, including Letters of Credit (LCs), Bills for Collection, guarantees, and other trade instruments.
• Prepare and review documentation required for import, export, and other trade finance transactions.
• Liaise with banks to process and monitor trade finance facilities and transactions.
• Track transaction status, maturity dates, bank charges, interest, commissions, and other related costs.
• Support the preparation and submission of applications for trade finance facilities and working capital lines.
• Monitor utilization and repayment of bank facilities to ensure compliance with approved terms.
• Coordinate with Procurement, Logistics, Finance, Treasury, and Operations teams on trade-related transactions.
• Ensure timely processing of import and export documentation and payment obligations.
• Monitor foreign exchange transactions and support the management of FX requirements related to trade activities.
• Maintain accurate records of banking transactions, facilities, guarantees, LCs, and other financial instruments.
• Prepare regular reports on bank balances, facilities, trade finance transactions, and outstanding obligations.
• Assist with cash flow planning and ensure adequate liquidity for business and trade operations.
• Review bank statements and reconcile banking transactions with internal records.
• Identify discrepancies, resolve banking issues, and follow up on pending transactions.
• Ensure banking and trade finance activities comply with company policies, banking requirements, and applicable regulatory guidelines.
• Support negotiations with banks on facility pricing, transaction charges, FX rates, and other banking terms.
• Provide financial and operational support for the company’s agricultural trading activities.
Requirements & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3–6 years of relevant experience in banking, treasury, trade finance, corporate finance, or financial operations.
• Practical experience handling Letters of Credit, bank guarantees, import/export documentation, and other trade finance instruments.
• Experience working with commercial banks and managing corporate banking relationships.
• Good understanding of trade finance processes and international/local trade documentation.
• Strong knowledge of cash management, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Experience in the agriculture, agribusiness, commodity trading, manufacturing, or import/export sector will be an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial/business applications.
• Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CTP, or related certifications will be an advantage.
