Job Description
The Field Operator is responsible for conducting routine surveillance of LNG process facilities and operating field equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and uninterrupted LNG production. The role involves monitoring plant conditions, operating rotary and static equipment, supporting maintenance activities, identifying hazards, and responding effectively to operational and emergency situations in compliance with HSE standards and operating procedures. Key Responsibilities
Conduct regular field surveillance of LNG facilities, process units, utilities, and associated equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Start, stop, monitor, and operate various rotary and static equipment in accordance with approved operating procedures.
Monitor process parameters, identify abnormalities, and promptly report deviations to the control room and supervisors.
Control and mitigate hazards at site and maintain a safe working environment.
Implement adequate safety controls to ensure maintenance activities are carried out safely and in accordance with permit-to-work procedures.
Participate in plant start-up, shutdown, isolation, and commissioning activities as directed.
Ensure compliance with plant operating procedures, HSE policies, and regulatory requirements.
Support emergency response activities and act in accordance with site emergency procedures during abnormal or emergency conditions.
Maintain good housekeeping standards in operational areas.
Prepare accurate operational logs, checklists, and shift reports.
Coordinate effectively with operations, maintenance, instrumentation, electrical, and HSE teams to achieve production targets and safe plant operations.
Functional
Skills & Competencies
Hands-on experience in Gas Processing Plants, LNG Plants, Ammonia Plants, or other gas processing facilities.
Knowledge of plant operations, process equipment, and safe operating practices.
Understanding of instrumentation and electrical systems related to field operations.
Familiarity with Emergency Response and Safety procedures.
Ability to identify operational hazards and apply appropriate control measures.
Good reporting, communication, and teamwork skills.
Working knowledge of SAP, MAPCON, or similar ERP/maintenance management systems is an added advantage. Qualifications
Diploma, OND, HND, or equivalent technical qualification in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Process Engineering, or related discipline. Experience
Minimum of 3–5 years of operational experience in LNG, gas processing, ammonia, petrochemical, refinery, or similar process industry environments.
